Co-operation |
by Benjamin Creme’s Master |
Humanity today stands poised for a great leap into the future, a future in which man’s essentially divine nature will demonstrate. Little though he may know this, man has passed and is passing the tests which will allow him, in full adulthood, to become the recipient of knowledge and powers with which to fashion that future. |
At present, only to the inner vision of the Guides of the Race may this reality be clear, but such it is, and portends well for the coming time. Wherever men gather, today, can be seen and felt a new urgency, a new sense of commitment to the well-being of the planet and its kingdoms. |
Only now, after aeons spent in the struggle for existence and progress can man be said to have reached maturity, a maturity discernible to Us, albeit well hidden from man himself. |
The opportunity arises now for a major advance in human progress outstripping by far, in speed and accomplishment, all previous advances. Whereas, until now, a slow and steady progress was desirable, and even preferable, a new, dynamic rhythm is being created whose momentum will sweep humanity into the future on a wave of global change. So great are the tensions in today’s divided world that only a rapid change of direction will prevent catastrophe. |
This rapid change, there is no doubt, will present problems of adjustment to many, but many more, by far, will welcome these changes as the opportunity for new life. |
We, the Toilers behind the scenes, have every confidence that humanity will set in motion this radical transformation of its structures. They no longer serve man’s needs and block the emergence of the new. We watch and guide, overseeing all. |
Little by little, a new consciousness is awakening humanity to its inner needs. The old, competitive spirit dies hard, but nevertheless a new spirit of co-operation is likewise to be seen. This augurs well for the future for it is by co-operation alone that mankind will survive; by co-operation alone that the new civilization will be built; by co-operation only that men can know and demonstrate the inner truth of their divinity. |
Co-operation is the natural result of right relationship. Right relationship likewise follows wise co-operation. Co-operation holds the key to all successful group effort and is a manifestation of divine goodwill. Without co-operation nothing lasting can be achieved, for co-operation brings into synthesis many diverse points of view. |
Co-operation is another word for Unity. Unity and co-operation are the springboards to the future and the guarantee of achievement for all men. Great reservoirs of power lie untapped within humanity waiting for the magic of co-operation to unleash. |
Competition strains the natural order; co-operation liberates the goodwill in men. Competition cares only for the self, whereas co-operation works for the highest good of all. |
Competition leads to separation, the origin of all sin; co-operation seeks to blend and fuse the many-coloured strands of the one divine life. |
Competition has led man to the precipice; co-operation alone will help him find the path. |
The old and backward-looking love competition; the new embrace with joy divine co-operation. |
The people of the world can be divided into two kinds: those who compete, and those who co-operate. |
Cleanse the heart of the stain of competition; open the heart to joyful co-operation. |

[The words ‘men’ and ‘man’ are used throughout the Master’s articles as general terms meaning humankind.]

From the Editor:
|
|
“Share International’’s first issue in 2025 is, we hope, informative and inspiring enough to bring reassurance and new insights while recalling possibly forgotten nuggets of wisdom. The articles chosen relate ancient wisdom to our challenging times. … From disaster, deeds of human kindness and courage flourish. Out of the rubble of Gaza comes a collective effort towards ‘Peace Through Shared Challenges: Climate Change in the Middle East.’ And the following pages, too, are full of reports of positive action, acts of selfless solidarity and good will: a teenager breaks a world record – an effort born out of a sense of unity and empathy; Mexico City’s Mayor, herself no stranger to poverty, creates hubs of compassion and the idea gathers momentum. A dedicated doctor describes how homeopathy heals wounded spirits and minds; activists and determined citizens work together for justice and unity. Numerous timely reports and articles tackle climate change and activism … This issue’s compilation is titled ‘A world in transition’, highlighting the cyclic nature of life, it deals with the rise and fall of systems and civilizations. As one civilization collapses the new is there pushing through, forming the next era. Benjamin Creme and his Master provide further insight into the great Law of Cause and Effect. In a major article, Benjamin Creme explains life, death and reincarnation while another article by his Master deals with the Law of Rebirth. … This final word [back cover] is from an article by Benjamin Creme’s Master Who counsels: ‘Conquer fear and uphold the hope of others; fear and joy are equally infectious. Demonstrate love and joy and close firmly forever the door upon despair. Do this and you will aid mankind more than you could know.’ (from ‘The joy of living’).”

Utopias in Mexico City |
|
For an example of what cities of the future could be like, consider Iztapalapa, Mexico City’s poorest and most populous neighborhood and the 15 Utopias created there. Clara Brugada, previously mayor of Iztapalapa and now Mayor of Mexico City, is responsible for this “socialist experiment,” whose purpose was to give the people of Iztapalapa the best—what they thought they could never have. Her vision was to create hubs to promote health, wellbeing and culture for the people living in this impoverished neighborhood. And so she has.
|
Each utopia is somewhat different, but they each offer a wide variety of free or low-cost services, including centers where women can take dance classes, tai chi or yoga, receive counseling, and enjoy aromatherapy and massages; a planetarium; sand parks and a petting zoo for children; canteens selling inexpensive healthy meals; a concert hall where classical music classes are held; a traditional Aztec sauna; swimming pools; libraries; tennis courts; racetracks and more.
|
Aside from the popularity of the Utopias (about 21,000 people use them every day), they have reduced both inequality and serious crimes in Iztapalapa. Now, as Mexico City’s mayor, Brugada wants to build 100 Utopias, so that every neighborhood has one. Read more at the Source.

The future hinges on co-operation
The Master says: “The people of the world can be divided into two kinds: those who compete, and those who co-operate." That is an extraordinary statement. It seems to me to be the crucial statement about our time and an extraordinary measure of the state of play in the world, the readiness of the world for change. Two great forces exist today: the reactionaries, looking backward, because they love the past, grimly holding on to the old, the useless, that which is breaking down, falling apart; and those who see that the only way forward is through co-operation, who come into incarnation ready to co-operate because they are disciples and initiates. It is in the hands of these disciples and initiates, who make up the New Group of World Servers, that the future of the world depends.

Caffeinated Consciousness Discussion Series – Dallas, TX
|
|
Some members of the Dallas, Texas group are trying a slightly different approach to outreach. Their “Caffeinated Consciousness” discussion series aims to host informal talks at coffee shops and similar small-scale venues. While it has been a struggle with attendance, the use of online event management and ticketing platforms like Meetup and Eventbrite are proving to be a low-cost way to get the word out. While the first talk, titled “Is the (re-)appearance of Christ / Krishna / Buddha / Imam Mahdi imminent?”, had little to no RSPVs, the next talk titled “Corporate Greed vs Human Need: How Sharing Will Save the World” produced RSVPs much more quickly. Although most people who reserved a seat did not actually attend, one young woman listened for two hours and found the information about Maitreya’s mission and priorities to be quite interesting. She volunteered in the past with an organization who works towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so it was an invigorating conversation for both the speaker and listener.

San Francisco’s Martin Luther King Jr. Festival
|
|
On January 20th members of the San Francisco Bay Area group hosted a booth at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Festival. On that day there was a deepening sense of goodwill among our own co-workers, and this seemed to “magnetize” visitors. Out in the garden, members passed out flyers devoted to Maitreya's priorities and Dr. King's belief in a basic income (that helped readers grasp how Americans often conflate being powerful consumers with being truly free). Another hand-out linked King's vision with that of Gandhi and Maitreya. Encountering children they also handed out SOP stickers and little scrolls – "messages of hope." The overall experience: it was a memorable, sweet day indeed!

A Movie and a Message
|
|
Co-workers in the NY area held a public video screening of Benjamin Creme’s 2009 lecture recorded in Nagoya, Japan. The event was held at a local independent community cinema with Q&A afterward. There was lively discussion with the small but interested audience that stayed for a brief introduction to Transmission Meditation. Our group also makes use of this cinema as a unique advertising option for events and general information. We provide an ad for them to run in a slideshow before each of their film screenings.

Transmission Meditation
Q&A with Benjamin Creme
Q. Does Transmission Meditation bring co-operation within a group?
A. Anything that brings you into contact with the soul, and energizes the vehicles of the soul, will tend to work in that direction. I cannot say: “Do Transmission Meditation and you will learn to co-operate.” It is not as simple as that. Co-operation will become more and more part of your nature if you do Transmission Meditation correctly, assiduously, with your attention in the head. It will bring about the reorientation which is needed.
