Glamour
by Benjamin Creme’s Master
Of all the problems which beset humanity there is none greater than the problem of glamour. It provides the basis for all our difficulties and dangers, and holds the vast majority of humanity in thrall. It is at the root of every division and cleavage and the source of every dimension of pain and suffering. It has its roots in the ancient past of mankind and all but a very few are held under its sway.
Essentially, glamour originates in man’s sensuous, feeling apparatus – the emotional or astral body – and in man’s identification with its action. Through wrong identification with his feelings and emotions – his desire nature – he has surrounded himself with, and lost himself in, thick fogs of illusion and unreality. This constitutes the glamour in which most people live out their lives. Glamour is illusion on the plane of the emotions and provides the greatest obstacle to progress, for the individual and for the race. It throws a multitude of misconceptions across the path of the unwary, and the loftiest idealist is no freer from its influence (nay, he is frequently more prone) than the hardened cynic.
To come to grips with glamour, humanity must recognize its mechanism, by which means the central heresy – that we are separate – is created and maintained. All that tends to reinforce the sense of separateness is the result of the action of glamour, and all that seeks to undermine that heresy works for its destruction. Glamour resides in the notion that man’s desires are real, that they have their own intrinsic validity and purpose, whereas, in truth, they are the cause of all unhappiness; no more real, no less transient, than the mirage of the desert.
The well-meaning aspirant clouds his action with desire for achievement; the idealist looks upon his as the only possible ideal that right-thinking people could hold; often do we see the absurdities of national pride lead nations into actions against the interest of their peoples. These, the actions of glamour, are the product of desire: for power and the fulfilment of ambition. The light of science has rid the world of certain ancient glamours but created others in their stead: the glamour of possessions enthralls half the world while the other half go hungry and die in misery and want.
Eventually, humanity will work through this phase and establish a truer perception of reality. The myriad glamours which beset the race today will one day dissolve in the light of man’s soul, invoked into manifestation as the New Age proceeds. But the present is a time in which new types of energy are making their impact on men’s lives and creating conditions of bewilderment and confusion. The heightened tension of the time fosters the glamours of fear and destruction, erupting into violence of all kinds.
What can be done to free humanity from this ancient thralldom, in part innate in the nature of substance itself? How can man free himself from wrong identification and the tyranny of his self-created thoughtforms? The answer lies in a shift of focus, from the self to the group; in a truer identification with the soul and its relation to all souls. The light of the soul, through the agency of mind, is the great dissipator of glamour, and long ago the Buddha taught the conquering of desire: the Noble Middle Path between the pairs of opposites. In the light of the soul the essential unity is seen, the astral waves subside and the aspirant finds himself at initiation’s gate.

[The words ‘men’ and ‘man’ are used throughout the Master’s articles as general terms meaning humankind.]

Unraveling the mystery of life energy (Part One)
Excerpt from an interview with Eric Leskowitz, MD by Jason Francis
Eric Leskowitz MD, is a retired psychiatrist who spent over 30 years studying energy healing, meditation and hypnosis. He founded and directed the Integrative Medicine Project at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. … “I had a very conventional and science-oriented background. … So I was a major in biology and pre-med in college. … Before starting medical school, I learned how to meditate doing Transcendental Meditation. That was an eye-opener that showed your mind could really affect how your body felt and what you paid attention to. So I was really interested in that mind-body connection. But even then, there was hardly anything known about it. …Then a really important event was that a friend and colleague of mine who was a counselor invited me to a lecture with a healer. … This lecture was by Rosalyn Bruyere [internationally-acclaimed clairvoyant]. … She was wonderful and caught my attention because she could work with the doctors in Los Angeles and could speak the [medical] language. She also understood what was going on at the invisible level underneath it all. She talked about how things manifested as physical illness and caused it all. So I studied with her for seven or eight years. She would come to Massachusetts and do five-day intensives. The first time somebody puts their hand on you, it’s very different than what you would expect. You can feel the weight of the hand and the 98.6 degree temperature, but there was something moving inside your body that shouldn’t happen but it did. That really was the crossroads for me.
Western medicine’s missing ingredient
Life energy is the missing ingredient in Western medicine. Every other healing tradition around the world has this notion of some kind of force or energy to bring about healing. We tend to think of the human body as very complicated machines – fix the broken parts and everything will work out. But there is nothing that really integrates or holds it all together. And that’s where we’re missing something and have to learn from other traditions about this energy. We don’t know exactly its nature. It’s not quite electricity or magnetism. Although it has elements of these, there is something a little more subtle to it. I think that’s an important direction for science and medicine to be exploring.
Nowadays, our health system is focused normally on medications and pharmaceuticals, with surgery and radiation being other options, but more and more about lifestyle. But I think it’s a human tendency to get attached to something you spent your life working with and developing. It’s hard to shift gears and, as the saying goes, hard to shift paradigms. We’re in the middle of a paradigm shift where a model of health and illness (but really our model of reality) is changing drastically – from a physical and mechanical or what’s called a materialist view to a mind-body interaction where suddenly the idea that ideas, thoughts, emotions and energy are primary and the physical world follows suit. Humanity’s Coming of Age – Episode 1 of 5
SoulSearch TV’s interview with Michiko Ishikawa
A passionate advocate for global peace, justice, and spiritual evolution, Michiko shares deep insights into the teachings of Maitreya, offering a profound perspective on how humanity can navigate the crises of our time. She explores powerful spiritual concepts, introducing the fact of cyclic manifestation of great Teachers and the continuity of divine revelation, the power of spiritual art and a new form of meditation for world service. This series will inspire hope, ignite inner transformation, and deepen your understanding of the spiritual awakening of humanity in the coming age.
These interviews were the culmination of Michiko’s long life of service and dedication to Maitreya and the Masters of Wisdom. She passed to the Higher Planes on March 25th – only weeks after they were completed. In the Ageless Wisdom Teachings, we are told that we pick up our point of service on the other side where we left off here – and so are encouraged to maintain the rhythm right up to the transition. It is likely she will resume her many decades of work with Benjamin Creme. (See also her interview with eminent Japanese scientist Dr. Yasuyuki Nemoto.)
The Noble Middle Path
The Buddha, after experiencing both extreme luxury and extreme asceticism, realized that a balanced approach, avoiding both indulgence and self-denial, was the most effective way to achieve enlightenment.
Principles of the Eightfold Path:
Right Understanding: Understanding the Four Noble Truths (suffering, the cause of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the path to the cessation of suffering)
Right Thought: Cultivating positive and wholesome thoughts, avoiding greed, hatred, and harmful intentions
Right Speech: Refraining from lying, gossiping, harsh language, and idle chatter
Right Action: Engaging in ethical and compassionate actions, avoiding harming oneself or others
Right Livelihood: Earning a living through honest and ethical means, avoiding occupations that cause harm
Right Effort: Cultivating positive mental states and preventing negative ones
Right Mindfulness: Paying attention to the present moment, observing thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment
Right Concentration: Developing mental focus and concentration through meditation practices
Three Spring Festivals
During the spring full moons (April, May and June this year), spiritual energies are at their most powerful because of the sun–moon–earth alignment and the potency of these ancient festivals. Group meditation, and particularly Transmission Meditation, provides a unique opportunity for us to invoke these evolutionary energies for spiritual service – something especially helpful during this time of planetary transformation. Transmission group members are encouraged to ‘connect’ with any Share International groups – virtual or in person – at the time/s the groups have chosen. This information is sent to group members in a separate communication.
If you are new to Transmission Meditation, we invite you to join a special Zoom introduction and meditation on Saturday, April 12, 7:30 pm EDT celebrating the first of these festivals – Aries. Use this link to register through Eventbrite.
Below we have provided an article from a Master of Wisdom about the importance of these festivals, a brief description of each, and some simple meditation guidelines. You may also wish to sit quietly and meditate on the exact day of each full moon, starting with April 13th.

Obstacles to divinity
The main thing is that at the coarse physical-plane level there is a resistance, a limitation of expression of our divinity. Hence, the expression of selfishness by most of humanity. We then create conditions – political, economic and social – which further prevent our divinity from expressing itself. When the changes, which are now under way, go further and reflect the essential spiritual nature of humanity, we will create conditions – political, economic, religious, social and scientific – which will allow the innate divinity of all people to manifest.

Introduction to Transmission Meditation – Keller, Texas
The Dallas group hosted an Introduction to Transmission Meditation which was held in Keller, Texas for the first time. Keller is a bedroom community of Ft. Worth. This new geographic location for an event provided an opportunity to reach a wider audience with the message of service and the fact of Maitreya and the Spiritual Hierarchy. A small but like-minded, curious audience attended and expressed gratitude for a location so close to home, in Dallas' sister city of Ft. Worth (Keller).
Spirituality meets Activism
An online event was held March 22 called SOP (Save Our Planet) talks: Spirituality meets Activism. It took the form of a conversation between Andreas Beck, a Share International coworker from Northern Italy (the South Tyrol region) and Frida Peterson, a Fridays for Future environmental activist from Sweden. The event began with a 10-minute Transmission Meditation, then continued with 50 minutes of conversation and a Q+A session. Frida and Andreas spoke about the relationship between spirituality and activism: how their spirituality nourishes and inspires their activism, why they feel the need to take action, and what gives them hope and strength. What is the difference between imagination and true inner knowing?

The difference between inner knowing and imagination is a question of focus of consciousness. Most people are focused on the astral plane. They function through the solar plexus, and their knowing is emotional and astral. That is imagination. … The evolutionary aim of humanity is to work from the mental planes. … The astral plane is meant to be a mirror, a still lake, on which the inner knowing, the spiritual intuition of the buddhic level can reflect itself. When the astral body is still and purified, it no longer reacts to the movement of astral energy through it. While the astral body remains unpurified, it causes chaos: we are tossed in a storm of astral energy, and it makes us behave in all sorts of totally irrelevant, irresponsible, and unreal ways, because the astral plane is, literally, unreal. … When truly creative people in any field say, “by the use of the imagination”, they really mean by the use of the intuition. … Intuition is absolutely direct. You know instantaneously, and it never fails. It functions through the heart without any admixture of emotional energy. The difference between pity and compassion is the difference between glamour and a true intuitive heart, a buddhic reaction.

Let the soul speak
We must allow the soul to speak through us, more and more, and call on the soul’s energy, insight and awareness by identifying with it. If we never identify with the soul, how can we know it? We have to experience ourselves as a soul in incarnation and, more and more, see that as the reality. When it is the reality, the lower man or woman tends to take second place. The personality will always be there, but it becomes negative in relation to the soul. The soul needs an instrument, a vehicle, a powerful, clear-cut personality through which to demonstrate. It is not a question of negating the personality, putting ourselves down, losing all self-respect. It is a question of becoming more altruistic, more impersonal, more objective.
