The importance of Unity |
by the Master —, through Benjamin Creme |
When men look back at this time, they will see it as a time when we displayed, simultaneously, every aspect of our being, both accomplishments and faults. This, of course, is not surprising, for men everywhere stand at various points on the evolutionary ladder but, accepting these natural divisions, which time itself will reduce, there is lacking, still, a unity of approach and an understanding of the needs of all. Why should this be so? For long ages the teachings of successive religions and the eminence of powerful individuals sustained a certain unity of thought in evolving humanity. There were, of course, many periods of war and dissent but at some level the unifying influence of the great religions was maintained. Today, individuality is so potent, so valued and rewarded, that, despite its manifold achievements, this precious individuality has become man’s greatest danger. |
Unity in any real sense is all but vanquished, even, or perhaps especially, in the religious field. Few there are who see instinctively, as a matter of course, the essential needs of all men. Therein lies the danger. |
The civilising forces of Justice and Freedom, however, are awakening millions to their birthright. Little by little, the minds of men are turning to the needs of all. This, naturally, runs counter to the rousing call of individuality. Hence the present extraordinary tension and chaotic conditions in the world. The problems, political and economic, are basically of a spiritual nature but can be solved only in the political and economic fields. Unity must be sought and manifested. Otherwise the strains imposed by the present conditions would drive men to the most dangerous actions. For this reason Maitreya calls for Unity, an understanding of the needs of all. |
Peace is essential but can only be achieved where Justice reigns. Justice, it will be found, needs the calm waters of Trust for its achievement. Sharing alone is Maitreya’s remedy for our ills. Sharing alone will bring men, trusting, to the table where Justice will be achieved and Peace assured. |

Coming to terms with free will
In a long and thought-provoking article, Share International magazine’s Chief Editor, Felicity Eliot, sheds light on the extraordinary nature and difficulty of Hierarchy’s emergence into full public recognition: factors far beyond our level of comprehension. One, however, is the little understood, God-given freewill of every human being and, collectively, of humanity as a whole. How have all these factors brought us to where we are today: what is truly beyond our control and what do we have the power to change. In the two concluding paragraphs she offers her view of the latter: the essential role of human free will.
…“Share International co-workers are sometimes challenged these days: ‘So where’s your Maitreya then, this Christ of yours?’ Quite logically, particularly in times of genocide with impunity or climate disasters, people question the existence of a loving God, including everything that has been said about the World Teacher and the Masters of Wisdom. The difficult truth is that the Masters are not saviours; it is true that they daily save and help the innocent who are suffering so unimaginably. But they cannot and may not interfere. The choices, the failures and potential triumphs are ours to make. Nothing, no delay, no amount of suffering means that the Masters are not real and present in our world now. To paraphrase: their hands are tied by law and they must wait until we come to our senses and, when we do so, ask for their help and guidance. We determine the pace of change; the present and the future are in our hands. Many believe that we are waiting for Maitreya but in fact it is Maitreya and the Masters who are waiting for us.
That the Masters and Maitreya are real, present on our planet, here to encourage, to advise and guide us into a new civilization is not in doubt. The question is not: when will Maitreya and the Masters – the Lords of Compassion – come and save us, but: when will we find in ourselves the compassion and recognition of the Plan – the Will of God – to save ourselves – our human family and our lovely suffering planet? The answer lies in our acceptance of the gift of free will and in acting on what we know and hope.”

Electricity (eventually) for all |
Maitreya’s list of priorities essential to the needs of every man, woman and child include the establishment of basic needs and equal access to resources. This ideal is reflected in the expanding electricity connectivity in East Africa. The Nile Post reported that at least one million poor Ugandan households will get a free electricity connection after the government received a $638 million loan from the World Bank. In Kenya, the government plans to connect 566,000 more households to electricity as part of its goal for universal access by 2030. The Kenyan government has vowed to allocate a budget every year to eventually have 90% to 95% of all homes connected by 2030, at a total cost of around $327 million USD. Finally, in Malawi, solar-powered lighting facilities are making electricity affordable for low-income households under the World Bank Malawi Electricity Access Project (MEAP). The ambitious $100 million MEAP project aims to fast-track electricity access to 1.9 million people (9.5% of the population), with more than 140,000 households connected so far. Electricity, something taken for granted in richer nations, can dramatically transform the health, education and general welfare of individuals within communities.

One in essence – diverse in expression |
“ | In this coming time, as we move deeper into the Aquarian experience, we will find that the idea of unity and its relation to diversity becomes ever more meaningful, and consistent with our growing understanding of the evolution of consciousness, which is the central purpose of our human existence. Unity to the Masters is the inner reality of our lives, reflecting the unity of every atom in relation with every other atom in cosmos. We all seek unity, knowingly or not: it is the destined achievement of our longing and our creating. Our aspiration for betterment drives us towards unity. Diversity also, we shall understand, is the reality of our being, reflecting as it does each person’s unique individuality. We have to realise that humanity is One, and act accordingly. |

Share International 2024 Conferences
A brief combined Summary
The North American Conference was held online via Zoom this year, and opened up to all active co-workers across the worldwide network. 115 people from 14 countries took part over three days, October 18-20, with 11 attending an SI conference for the first time.
The theme of the conference was "To Serve Anew" with a focus on the "educational endeavor vast in scope" that all co-workers will have the opportunity to be engaged in after the Day of Declaration.
In the small and large group discussions the focus was on how to be of service given the tension in the world, and the need for adaptability and flexibility in the face of increasing polarization in the USA. Many co-workers shared thoughts on their current outreach work. Andreas Beck from the Italian group shared his “Spirituality and Activism” initiative, describing how it was a bridge to groups outside the SI network. His presentation inspired a lively response.
Phyllis Creme shared her view of the need for group members to deepen their sense of unity with the wider group – humanity. She emphasized the need to align with groups who are working to improve conditions in the world, wherever they may be found.
Sophia Tara from New Zealand shared how the use of Zoom and the addition of a healing list at the end of meditation has increased participation in weekly Transmission Meditation.
On the last day of the conference, a video was shown from the 2008 US Conference of Benjamin Creme talking about the "Open Mandala" lithograph and how to use it for meditation.
A highlight of the afternoon was a live (virtual) tour of the Benjamin Creme Museum in Los Angeles where the group was shown all the paintings in the museum.
The European Conference took place at the end of September in Metz, France after a 4-year interruption of in-person meetings (Online conferences were held in 2020 and 2021). It was a great joy to meet again and to experience the power of Transmission Meditation in a large group with all physically present together (about 60 people from 10 countries of Europe).
The video which gave the general theme of the conference was an excerpted version of Benjamin Creme’s lecture The Art of Waiting, and some text extracts from his books provided the guidelines for our reflection (the Art of Cooperation, the need for Unity, the pairs of opposites, Illusion…).
Two aspects of our work were considered: inner and outer work. How can we continue to develop the inner (energetic) quality of our group so that it becomes a better instrument for Maitreya and Hierarchy? And where do we stand as a group in these complicated and challenging times?
Communicating with the public remains the main part of our work and endeavour. Talking about Maitreya, the Masters, their priorities, is more relevant at the moment than focusing on the timing of Maitreya's public emergence. Taking part in demonstrations, cooperating with other groups, esoteric groups and, above all, groups that work in line with Maitreya’s priorities as some of us already do, is certainly to be encouraged. ‘Windows of opportunity’ (for our work) present themselves. It‘s up to us to seize them.
In summary, co-workers reported that meeting and collaborating with colleagues from across the world (either online or in person) at these 2024 SI conferences was a joyful and rewarding experience. Many new collaborations were initiated, and interest was expressed in wanting to do this type of global encounter more often.

The Triangles Movement
Many who are involved in Transmission Meditation have found an additional form of energetic service to humanity through the Triangles movement. Inaugurated in 1936 by the Master Djwhal Khul through Alice A. Bailey, Triangles involves three people linking in thought for a few minutes each day for creative meditation.
To be a member of a triangle, you simply agree with two like-minded friends to form one. You do not have to be in the same location nor synchronize the time you each do the work. Simply link up mentally with the other two members, visualize a triangle of white light circulating above your heads, and say the Great Invocation. See your triangle linked to a network of such triangles which covers the whole world. In this way you are participating in the Masters’ work of bringing the energies of Light, Love and Goodwill into our planet for the benefit of all life.
According to Benjamin Creme, there is no real difference between the Triangles work and Transmission Meditation except the degree of potency and the amount of time devoted to the activity. Whenever possible, we encourage you to join a Transmission group, either in person or online. However, engaging in Triangles for a few minutes each day is a simple and important way to serve.
For more information, contact us. Please indicate you are interested in Triangles.

“We are living in momentous times; I cannot say it strongly enough. This is a time unlike any there has ever been before. I doubt if this particular opportunity for service has ever been presented to a group before. Many times in His messages Maitreya has said: ‘This is an opportunity for service unlike ought seen before.’ If He says it, you can be sure it is a reality. Never have so many people had this opportunity for service, this opportunity – at their level – to do something of major importance. That is why groups like this should recognize the opportunity and the privilege given to it, to do their very best to live up to the opportunity presented and not waste it in competition or greed, or simple self-awareness and self-contemplation – which everyone has moments of but which, with dedication to the work, should very rarely be seen.” —Benjamin Creme, The Art of Cooperation, pg 53
“True service is the spontaneous outflow of a loving heart and an intelligent mind; it is the result of being in the right place and staying there; it is produced by the inevitable inflow of spiritual force and not by strenuous physical plane activity; it is the effect of a man's being what he truly is, a divine Son of God, and not by the studied effect of his words or deeds.” —Alice A. Bailey, A Treatise on White Magic, pg 188
