| When mankind sees, at last, the folly of its present fascination with violence and war, and discards the means to carry out its acts of violence, it will undergo a remarkable transformation. The first signs of this most welcome change in human behaviour can be seen in the millions who now march denouncing war and calling for justice and peace. These demonstrations, spontaneous and worldwide, are a sure indication that mankind is ready to renounce the past, and, when properly led, to change direction. This time is fast approaching. |
| Amid the trauma and stressful conditions of the present, a new vision of the future is presenting itself to the hearts and minds of millions who, to a greater or lesser degree, respond. Men are awakening to the necessity of peace if mankind is to survive. Few there are who doubt this in their hearts, however much they may be embroiled in war. The stage thus is set for the ultimate choice before mankind. |
| To the average onlooker, the world is torn and dominated by those who do not share the vision of peace, who see only opportunities for wealth and power in every conflagration. While these are many, the majority of men are tired of the uselessness of war, and seek strategies to put an end to such folly forever. In their hearts burns the hope of a new time of peace and progress for all. These people, in every country, represent the hope of the world. |
| It is to them that Maitreya will address Himself on His emergence. It is to them that He presents the vision of the future, even now. They, in their many millions, will quickly respond to His advocacy, and set alight the hope of all. |
| Thus will Maitreya persuade men that further reckless strife is useless and dangerous. That the problems of today are global and cannot be solved by war. That co-operation alone will bring men peace and plenty. That only as brothers, hand in hand, can they enter the new world which awaits their care. |
| Thus will men decide, and turn back from the abyss. Thus will they demonstrate their choice for life and happiness, and, eyes alight with hope, begin together the task of reconstructing this world. |
| The time of decision is nigh, almost upon us. Maitreya is ready, eager to show the way, point the new direction. Millions await His counsel and inspiration, wisdom and love. Maitreya will vouchsafe the future for all. |

Environment

|
One fundamental priority of Maitreya is saving, protecting, and healing the environment. This past year saw several turning points that indicated that the message may finally be hitting home, promising a brighter future. The International Energy Agency (IEA) recently reported that the world is on track to providing half of the world’s electricity needs by 2030 through renewables. For example, emissions from the world’s biggest polluter – China – are forecast to start falling in 2024 due to the rapid rollout of renewable energy sources, leading to an era of structural decline for electricity production using fossil fuels. Professor Tim Lenton from the University of Exeter in England claimed that relentless breakthroughs in low-carbon technologies could soon trigger an unstoppable wave of decarbonisation throughout the world – a very positive tipping point. Some of the events backing this claim include the upsurge of climate change litigation which is forcing big oil companies like Shell to cut emissions or the recent referendum vote in Ecuador which saw 60% of the population vote to stop drilling in the Amazon. There is still a long way to go, and the trend is now only just starting to turn in favor of saving the environment, but the pace of change is now increasing in dramatic strides which will lead to real results in the coming years.

During the spring full moons (March, April and May this year), spiritual energies are at their most powerful because of the sun–moon–earth alignment and the potency of these ancient festivals. SoCal springs into Spring!
|
|
|
Conscious Life Expo, the largest event of its kind in the US, drew between 8,000 and 10,000 visitors and hosted over 100 lectures and workshops. Dick Larson’s talk “Who exactly is Maitreya”, in a 9 pm time slot, nevertheless drew 12 receptive people who asked thoughtful questions. The group also finds that the general public (at least at spiritual events like this one) are more informed now about the ageless wisdom teachings, rebirth, Sai Baba, Alice Bailey, etc. They seem to be a much more esoterically educated group that stops at our booths now. At one point all four co-workers were simultaneously sharing information at the booth, and there are far more requests for materials than in the past.

The following weekend was the SoulSearch event in Marina del Rey. It was much smaller than CLE, but an excellent venue for groups in California and Arizona. In addition to the booth, there were two presentations by Larson – “The Masters of Wisdom: Their return to the world” and “Transmission Meditation: A New Age Meditation.” He reports the audiences were more focused than usual. “No one’s eyes glazed over. No one was looking at their phone. Their questions were right on target!” The group plans to be at more SoulSearch events! Tucson Festival of Books up next!

Vancouver Wellness Show
|

|
The Vancouver group had a booth at the annual Wellness Show over a weekend in early February. They were fortunate to have been given a corner booth, at the last minute, instead of the smaller one they had booked – and at no extra cost! They set up one "face" with information about Maitreya and the other with Transmission Meditation material. The fair was well attended (over 16,000 attendees) and they had a number of good conversations, with several people signing up for notifications about their future monthly events.

Public interest definitely growing
|
|
|
According to administrators of the bi-annual Body, Mind, Spirit Expo in Raleigh, North Carolina, the February expo attracted the largest audience ever recorded at the fair. Some 2,300 people attended! Our Share International booth actually ran out of some handouts. Dozens of people visited the booth and appeared keen to learn more about all aspects of our information. Some twenty-five people signed up to receive our newsletter and were particularly interested in the meditation. Few people wore masks and a joyous atmosphere prevailed throughout the two day event. Some regulars came back to inquire about updates on the timing of the Day of Declaration...
